Representing our association, Iida Sulonen won silver in the Artistic Pole Senior 18+ Women category on Thursday evening at the World Pole & Aerial Championships in Prague. It is Iida's second World Championship silver this week. On Tuesday, she placed second in Ultra Pole.

The top of the 19-athlete field was tight. Only one athlete per country can enter the category, in practice the national champion. Yeva Arakelova of Kazakhstan took the win with 67.9 points. Iida was second with 67.2, and Federica Morabito of Italy won bronze with 65.7. Gold was less than a point away.

Artistic Pole is one of Iida's strongest disciplines. Two years ago, she won the junior world title in it, and she creates her own choreographies. Two World Championship silvers in the same week show that Iida has convincingly taken her place among the world's top names in the senior categories too.

Congratulations to Iida on her second World Championship silver!
