The World Championships in Pole Dance and Aerial Acrobatics were held last week in Uppsala. Around ten Finnish athletes competed across different age groups and categories. Representing our association, Iida won the gold medal in the World Championships.

Iida was one of the crowd and livestream commentators’ favorites at the competition, thanks to her flawless performances. In the Artistic Aerial Hoop event on Saturday, Iida placed fourth. On Sunday, she improved her standings, earning the brightest medal in Artistic Pole. In all the categories she competed in, Iida ranked among the top ten.

The International Pole Sports Federation (IPSF) hosted the competition, which featured over 600 athletes who had qualified nationally, representing 47 different countries. The top performers from each country competed against one another in dozens of categories during the five-day event.

Iida is one of the founding members of our association. She creates all her own choreographies. Her primary coaches are her guardians, Sanni and Iiro. Iida also participates in the training sessions organized by the association's coaching team, where Milka serves as the head coach. Our association trains numerous promising young talents. In addition to her own routines, Iida creates choreographies for other athletes and teaches group classes, provides private lessons, and offers coaching support.

Earlier this year, Iida won gold at the Finnish Championships under the POSA federation and six gold medals in Open categories held in Sweden (IPSF) and Norway (POSA).
